Motorola has announced the release date of Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi-Only version which will be released on March 27 in U.S. at the price of $599.99.
Motorola’s first tablet Xoom 3G versions was released in February at the price tag of $799. Xoom is based on Google Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) OS. Just after that Apple released iPad 2 which is much better then before and the price of 3G version starting at $629. Thus there is great competition for Motorola Xoom.
Motorola Xoom features 10.1-inch HD display, Dual-core 1 GHz processor, 2 MP webcam and 5 MP cameras with 720p HD video capture and playback and runs on Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) OS.
All these features are now available on Apple iPad 2 which is much more powerful, slim and with 2 cameras compare to iPad 1. Apple iPad 2 cost same as Motorola Xoom so it will be difficult for Motorola to increase Xoom sale.
Motorola Xoom is Android based tablet which makes it different from iPad which runs on IOS. There are thousands of Android apps available today. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1-inch is going to be released soon and the features of Galaxy Tab are great we have to just wait for release and price of Galaxy Tab 10.1. If Samsung introduce Galaxy Tab 10.1 with great price then there will be more difficulties for Motorola Xoom. To make Xoom a success Motorola should conceder the pricing of Xoom.
