Kenny Dalglish's side head to Wembley possessing a good record against their Merseyside rivals, having defeated them in the last three semifinal meetings.
Liverpool has something of a goalkeeping crisis as first choice Pepe Reina and backup Doni are both suspended for the game at Wembley. That means Brad Jones should start in goal with the recalled Peter Gulacsi taking his place on the bench.
Martin Kelly is expected to be fit for Saturday's game but Glen Johnson is also on the road to recovery having played 50 minutes away at Blackburn as they compete for the right back slot.
